Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Our monthly memberships and day pass options and all are available to start online here.

We like to schedule a quick orientation for new members and will be in touch after you sign up.  If you would like to schedule a start date in the future, you can signup online and select a starting date for your membership 14 days in advance.  You won’t be charged until your starting date.

You can also schedule a tour to see the space and discuss with the SANDBOX team about which membership option is best for you.

We look forward to seeing you at THE SANDBOX.

It depends on the membership you are interested in.

Our coworking memberships are for one individual.

Our office and dedicated desk memberships can be shared, depending on the office or desk you’ve chosen. Listed pricing is based on one person, however, additional company members can be added for $200 a month. Our memberships are set up with one billing party and can not be split into two payments.  Let us know if you are interested in adding a person to your membership, or starting with two individuals and we’ll get you set up.

If your company is interested in having multiple members join THE SANDBOX, or utilize any of our locations for your remote employees, we’d love to create a multi-member and/or multi-space membership that fits your company needs and budget.  Contact us to get the discussion started!

We have a limited number of marked SANDBOX parking spaces along the side of the building. In addition the street parking in the neighborhood is not timed and free to park for the day. Do not park in the angled parking facing the building on the other side of the parking lot. Those spaces are reserved for Draughtsman Aleworks customers. There is also a dirt lot you can enter after our parking area.  Parking is available for SANDBOX members in the left portion of the parking lot. In these spots park with your car facing the South, towards Hollister Avenue.

Yes! Dogs are allowed at THE SANDBOX for owners who have office memberships and have cleared their dog through our SANDBOX dog owner checklist. Our checklist includes the need for a local dog license and up to date with dog vaccinations.  Our dog policy is available here.

If you are working on the open coworking floor with a coworking membership or day pass you will need to leave your furry friends at home, they are not allowed on the coworking floor.

THE SANDBOX Goleta uses a membership system that includes access to the building with a mobile app based key that is activated with your SANDBOX membership. After joining the space you’ll be given a quick orientation that includes instruction on how to use the system and app (iOS or Android) to access the building.

Orientations take place Monday to Friday from 9am to noon, so please keep that in mind when scheduling your start date. 🙂

Really fast internet you say?! We have you covered. Our wifi is ultra fast and reliable so you should have no issues no matter where in the building you happen to find yourself working – even if it’s on one of the outdoor patios.

Yes! Receipts can be found in your Billing History. You can view all of the invoices on your account and download anything you need.

We don’t have a free trial, but if you purchase a day pass and then join THE SANDBOX Goleta with a monthly membership or pack of punch passes within 7 days, we can credit the amount paid for the initial day pass towards your membership.

QUESTIONS ABOUT WORKING @ THE SANDBOX (COWORKING & OFFICES)

Coworking Options include Day Passes or Monthly Memberships.

If you are looking for a Dedicated Space try our Private Offices which are available by the month. You can check for availability here.

We occasionally have a dedicated office available for the day.  If this option is listed on our member portal it is available for the day!  This is a great way to try out THE SANDBOX and have your own space.

We also have two meeting rooms available for hourly meetings or work sessions for groups.  See more details or book them here.

Besides getting to work in a fantastic building full of fantastic people, all memberships offer some pretty great benefits, including: coffee, tea and other beverages in our fully stocked kitchen, high speed internet (and all other utilities), sweet phone booths for calls or meetings, a brewery (Draughtsman) next door, and members-only pricing on conference/meeting rooms and events. 1 hour per month included with all Memberships. With the rental of an office you can also use the 69 Santa Felicia Drive address for your business.  We sort and distribute mail as it arrives.  If you have a coworking membership you can add the use of the address and a mailbox for $30 a month.

All Access Coworking and monthly office rentals also include access to the Proximity Space Network, a nationwide coworking space collective, that gives you 3 days of access (per month) to any partner space in the network. Check out all the Proximity Space Network locations here.

If someone would like to work with you, they can either join THE SANDBOX as a member (yay!), or purchase a day pass (or a pack of day passes).

In an effort to keep the coworking space distractions to a minimum, we encourage our members to use the phone booths near the kitchen to take phone calls. These ROOM booths are built with great sound dampening materials and were purchased specifically for private calls.  Our phone booths are available on a first come first served basis for calls. Keep in mind they aren’t private office spaces where your things can be left between calls.  If you need a space like this we have private offices available by the month, or day.

The SANDBOX memberships are month-to-month. Our pricing is based on a month-to-month arrangement. If you are looking for a longer-term commitment please contact us about our lease agreement options. Our month-to-month memberships do require a 30 day + notice to end your membership. A deposit is not needed, but you will be responsible for finishing the current term, and an additional 30 days of membership fees.  We will charge your last month of membership when you give your notice to leave THE SANDBOX.

Great!  There are a couple of options for you.

Our Monthly Coworking Membership grants you access to the building from 5am – 9pm, 7 days a week.

Our All Access Membership, and Monthly Office Memberships get you in the building any time you’d like.

If you are asking about daily early access, then we are happy to give you access to the space a bit earlier once you have an understanding and quick orientation.  Just show up at or after 8:30 on your first day and we’ll give you a quick orientation and the next day you’ll be able to get to work earlier by buying our Extended Day Pass (for $35 a day). This pass comes with a digital key that will allow you to get in the building at 5am.

After hours and weekend access to THE SANDBOX is not available for standard Day Pass users. We do, however, havean  Extended Day Pass available for early and late access – 5am-9pm, Monday to Friday. If you need access to the building on weekends, please consider purchasing a Monthly Coworking  membership, depending on your needs.

Yes, THE SANDBOX offers day passes and we love meeting individuals from out of the area and connecting them to our members and favorite spots in town. These passes can be purchased for $25 a day and can be used  between 8:30 AM and 5PM.  You can purchase day passes on the day you arrive at THE SANDBOX, or you can purchase advance at and schedule your start date. If you’d like to use THE SANDBOX for multiple days, you can purchase a punch card for 5 or more passes.  When you purchase 5 or more day passes, day passes are priced at $20 a day.

Note that day passes “punches”  need to be used within 90 days of purchase. If you decide within that 90 days that you would like to upgrade to a Monthly Coworking membership, office or desk we are able to credit your account for the amount of the unused days and apply that to your new membership.

We have a family add-on for your spouse or children that can be added to your monthly coworking membership for $100 a month.  This allows your family to use THE SANDBOX just like any other member.  If they just want to use the space for the day, they can purchase a day pass.
